Close the month without matching a single line by hand.
Nightclose connects to your bank feeds and your accounting software, matches every transaction against the books overnight, and drafts a journal entry for each exception — with a plain-English reason attached. You review the handful of exceptions and approve. That's the whole job.
Free while in public beta. Read-only connections by default — Nightclose only posts entries you approve.
Two connections, then you only touch exceptions.
Nightclose is a matching engine with judgment, not a dashboard you have to feed. Connect once; it works every night and reports when something doesn't tie.
Connect bank and books
Bank and card feeds through Plaid, or CSV if Plaid doesn't have your bank. QuickBooks Online or Xero over OAuth. Takes about ten minutes for a whole entity.
Nightclose matches overnight
Every bank, card, and payout line is matched against the ledger — exact matches first, then learned merchant aliases and tolerant amounts. Matched lines go quiet; nothing else changes.
You approve the exceptions
Whatever doesn't tie arrives as an exception with a drafted journal entry and a reason you can read in one breath. Approve it, edit the account, or reject — Nightclose posts exactly what you approve.
Month-end is 80% matching. Nightclose does the matching.
The accounting math isn't what makes a close slow. It's the three days of staring at two columns — bank statement on one side, ledger on the other — deciding which wire fee explains which variance. Nightclose does that part, every night, instead of in a panic on day 9.
- Drafted entries, not guessesEvery exception comes with a journal entry and a one-line reason: what matched, what didn't, and why the draft looks the way it does.
- Approval before postingNightclose never touches your books on its own. Nothing posts until a human approves it, and every post is logged.
- Duplicate detectionCatches the card billed twice, the refund netted against a new charge, the marketplace charge hiding inside an AWS total.
- Learns your categorizationWhen you correct a draft, that's a lesson, not an error. Next month the same merchant auto-ties.
- Everything reconcilesBank ↔ books, Stripe payouts ↔ clearing account, payroll ↔ accrued liabilities. The sources that "always take another day" tie overnight.

From the beta group.
My close went from nine days to three. The part that changed wasn't the accounting — it was that I stopped being the one who finds the $0.02 variance.
It flagged a $17.6k duplicate before I'd approved it. The draft said why, with the original entry linked. That save paid for years of subscription.
It never force-balances anything. Unmatched stays unmatched until I say so, and the explanations are the first AI thing I've trusted enough to stop double-checking.
Free in beta. Then $29/month per entity.
Firms get a client count that scales with them. Beta users keep 50% off for a year at launch.
The books already balance.
